IIC UGent was founded in 1990 as one of the first Incubation and Innovation centers in Flanders. It is a joint project of Ghent University, the University College of Ghent, the province of East Flanders, the city of Ghent, GIMV, BNP-Paribas Fortis, Arcelor-Mittal, Suez, Ethias, Alcatel-Lucent, Internationale Jaarbeurs Vlaanderen, LVD and UCO.
The Ghent University Incubation and Innovation Centre is a service centre for spin-offs of the Ghent University Association. It is at the disposal of spin-offs coming from the various faculties of the AUG.
