Construction of 15.000 m² biotech research facilities for UGent and VIB started on Tech Lane Ghent Science Park.

The new building will host the laboratories for the VIB-UGent Center for Medical Biotechnology (Prof. Nico Callewaert), together with extra facilities for the Centers for Plant Systems Biology and Inflammatory Research.

The new building will be physically connected with the existing research building providing together more than 40.000 m² state-of-the art biotech research facilities hosting 700 academic researchers. It is located in the heart of the life science cluster on the Tech Lane Ghent Science Park together with more than 35 companies employing today more than 1.800 researchers.
